What is an SNI code?

SNI codes are a standardized code to describe the type of business a company conducts. These are used by authorities and companies to categorize companies and their activities. SNI codes are used, among other things, by the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Companies Registration Office and Statistics Norway, but also by companies that want to direct their marketing to specific industries.

SNI codes consist of a main group, a subgroup and a detail group. You can choose to subscribe to a main group, a subgroup or a detail group. If you choose to subscribe to a main group, you will receive information about all subgroups and detail groups belonging to the main group. If you choose to subscribe to a subgroup, you will receive information about all detail groups that belong to the subgroup. If you choose to subscribe to a detail group, you will receive information about that detail group. If you don't know which SNI code to choose, you can use the search function to find the right SNI code.

Example:

An SNI code might look likt this:

45.110 - Handel med personbilar och lätta motorfordon.

In this case, 45 is the main group, 45.1 is the sub group and 45.110 is the detail group.
